THIS! One day I will have this wall. Only have the first row right now haha.
I’ve got three…this is my dream.

I went with my girlfriend to the gym today…
It was closed due to the obnoxious amount of snow we received…yesterday [the streets are currently clear].
So, on the way back home, after being bottomed out by being ready to get a good workout in; we made a impromptu stop.
Downtown St. Joseph
This area is older than Kansas City, and has a ton of OLD historic buildings and nearly no traffic. So, in the snow drifts and partially cleared sidewalks we took off running from the car…alright…jogging…ok…somewhat walking…
Regardless, we did do something today [though she nearly froze to death in the process].
It opened up a new realm to me though; during the weekend this section of the city is locked up and quiet [all government buildings]. Perhaps running along the streets I’d been trying on around my apartment wasn’t the right way after all; maybe my success lies downtown.
ALSO!
My girlfriend is on Tumblr now and needs your support; you can find her HERE!

I’m not a marathon person, but this looks rather fascinating!
Hello world,
It’s been…forever…
In fact my last post was found on July 30th of 2012, so things have changed…a lot.
I’ve moved from the small town I had resided in with my parents since my divorce in 2011. I’m now on my own in St. Joseph with a very nice apartment.
I am happily in a wonderful relationship with a lovely barista at the local Starbucks. Her name is Darci. We’ve been dating for nearly a year…ish. Since July my new business has taken off; I own the Kansas City Shock, one of the two premier women’s soccer programs in the Kansas City area. This, along with my delightful job at Subway, has kept me insanely busy and always on the go.
As for fitness; well, that’s why I’m here today.
Upon moving into the city [remember, I went from 9,000 to 1,000 and now I’m to 76,000] I struggled with running. There are no solid trails throughout this city, sidewalks are very limited, and the drivers are…questionable at best.
I did a little bit, but quite frankly; I got burned out quickly. The smog, noise, and the traffic just overwhelmed me and left me bummed. I don’t mind the city, I just hate running in it.
So, I went ahead and got a new membership at the YMCA in St. Joseph. There is only two catches with this:
Those excuses? I hope not, but they are facts. However, I have some things going in my favor:
- I have a new pair of running shoes [finally] that I’m still breaking in, but it is nice to have padding for my feet once again. My old pair started to show holes.
- A friend of mine, for Christmas, has gotten me a two year subscription to Runner’s World Magazine. Now I just need to read them.
- My girlfriend. Remember my situation in January of of 2011? She’s at a similar point; both mentally and physically. She’s made a ton of adjustments in her personal life since we met, and now she’s wanting to get back into the shape she desires as well [reality: we both want to be hot; we have ego issues]. I know that pushing her will help me get out of my rut as well. Tonight she’ll be working on her blog as well.
That’s just a brief summation of the past seven-eight months. I’m back on here because it helped before, and I know it’ll help again.

Also, if you’re curious about the Kansas City Shock be sure to find them on Twitter [we’re still beating around whether or not we want to tackle the Tumblr world].
I feel like death. I decided that today was a great day to go try out a 10k. First one I’ve attempted in…three years? Something along those lines. It was painful, horrifying, and all around nasty.
Translation: I feel like death tonight, and we get to go at it again tomorrow…
Less you be pondering, yes I have broken my personal record for the mile. I’m down to 4:30.41.
Can still trim it some more.
So…earlier I said that the mile time goal by June was 4:40…
Technically, it was only once. More importantly, by no means was it ‘official’. Additionally, I’m not near the weight that I wish to be, and I’m not nearly as tone as I would like.
Basically, the goal isn’t over. In fact, I firmly believe that it has only begun. With the weather becoming MUCH nicer outside, and the hours of daylight becoming longer. I have no excuse. My break is over, my legs need stretched, and there is so much built up that needs to be let loose.
Old Goal: 4:40 Mile by June
New Goal: 4:40 Mile by June [Consistently]
One and done is never good enough.

For those of you who are active, and then suddenly are not for a few days; you know this curse. The days that you’re not active, the night time is your curse and you cannot fall asleep. It’s a vicious, evil cycle.
So, it’s been a while since I’ve been floating around here, and I’ve got some decent reasons why:
A. I’ve been busy
B. I’m getting ready to start writing a book, literally. The website that I run, FilingThePapers.com hit 10,000 views a few weeks ago. I decided that when that moment came I’d admit to everyone that after my trip to Guatemala in June, I would start writing this book. Like the site, it’ll be about the recovery that I’ve gone through over the past eight months since my wife left me [by the way, she’s now engaged…].
C. I’m now the director of the first professional women’s soccer team in the Kansas City area. I’m not making this up; this is a team that is going to be within the WPSL [Women’s Premier Soccer League]. I’ve already filed a LLC [Limited Liability Company] with the state of Missouri, and now I’m looking for a place to play, a tournament this summer, and we’re aiming for kick-off in the ‘13 season! Oh, the name; Kansas City Shock. Get excited! Read up on it here, under the titles ‘WPSL’!
D. Traveling: I’ve gone to Dallas, Texas and back; twice within the past month. I’ve flown to Maryland in February for a wedding, and I’m going back next month. I’m also going to Guatemala in June to host a soccer clinic in Guatemala City, Guatemala. I’m also heading to Reno, Nevada in August and November for soccer coaching sessions, and I’m flying to California in December or the annual WPSL convention. Somewhere in there I’m driving to Colorado just for a break.
D. Oh…and by the way…
…that mile time happened also.
Come on, admit it; you missed me ;)
